As you may all not know, I am an 80's music lover. I just love the music from that era, I think that was really 'music'. I love WHAM!, New Edition, Guns N' Roses, Phil Collins, U2 to name a few.
One of my all time favorite Christmas songs is the Band Aid song Don't They Know It's Christmas and I think there are some amazing artists that were on the original track. There voices were incredible and you could just feel the soul in the song.
In the new version, while I think it is good don't get me wrong, I feel like it just doesn't do it justice. While I think the artists they chose are great and they sound great on the track, it just doesn't compare to the original. The original is one of those oldies but a goodie. I can totally appreciate the effort and the cause for the song and the message they are trying to send, but I just love me the old version. Is that so bad?
Let me know what your thoughts are and listen to the two and compare. Be warned though, the men's hairstyles from the 80's are a bit funny.
So, I must say I have been waiting a long time to write this post. I was a bit book obsessed for a good few months this year and I read many a books. The series that stood out was the Lux Series by Jennifer L. Armentrout.
This is a Young Adult Sci-Fi romance and it is incredible. Honestly, one of the best books I have ever read. I can not gush about it enough. I have waited this long to write about it because I was waiting for all the books in the series to become available and now they are! (They have all been available for a while ha-ha)
The series is about a girl named Katy and she moves from Florida to the middle-of-nowhere West Virginia. When she arrives she meets a boy named Damon and he is incredibly hot. You can not help but fall in love with Damon even though he is a total jerk.
To be honest, it is a bit Twilight-esque with the forbidden romance element and his being 'different'. I will let you find out for yourself just how different he is. However, it is a great read and really well written. After reading the Lux Series I read many other books written by Jennifer L. Armentrout and I am completely obsessed with every book she has written. I can guarantee you will be just as Lux obsessed as I am.
Here are the books in order:
Might I add the cover model is just dreamy? I promise you will not regret reading this series and also make sure to check out other books by Jennifer, she is an amazing writer and her books all feature incredibly smexy dudes... Who doesn't love that!
Now, while these little babies are quite controversial in the beauty world, they are NOT good for your skin, but when you have those lazy nights when you can't be bothered to get up and wash your face, these are your best friend.
I am guilty of this terrible behavior, but every once in a while, I think it's OK. I will say however, a face wipe does not replace actually cleansing your face with soap and water. Do not be fooled with the packaging when it says 'Cleansing Face Wipe'. It is not as effective as actually washing your face. Just thought I'd throw that last bit in there.
Two of my favorites are the Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes, they are gentle, smell good, are great for sensitive skin, even the eyes, and they stay moist! They do not dry out fast and you can get them for about $5 at Walmart/Target.
My other favorite are the MAC Wipes, they are also just as good as the Simple wipes but more expensive. However, I do feel like they dry quicker
I would like to mention wipes that are not so great. They are the Yes to Cucumber Facial Wipes. I will honestly say they are the one of the worst wipes I have ever tried. They made my eyes burn and the smell is not very pleasant and they are not very moist.
Let me know if you have tried either of these wipes and if you have any recommendations!
Lately I have been going back and forth with what I want to do with my life. Do I want to go to school to be a teacher or a Radiology Tech? What matters most money or love for the job? I even question, when I wake up ten years from now, will I hate the decision I made?
I have also been pondering the direction of my blog and YouTube channel. As of now I am only showing one part of myself and that is the part that loves makeup and that's pretty much it. But that's not all I love and that's not the only thing I want to be known for. I don't want to dedicate my 'work' essentially to just one thing because I don't only love just one thing. I want the world to know that I have different facets to my personality. Because, let's face it, I don't talk about makeup or skin care 24/7 in my personal life. I tried it working for Sephora and I absolutely hated it. It's too shallow and half the time I look like shit and don't wear makeup at all. I'm happiest then; just being my normal, makeup-less self.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that I'm still figuring out who I am and what I want to do with my life and I welcome whoever wants to come along on this journey with me. I am 99.9% sure that I am not the only one who is going through this.
As of now, I am at a standstill and I don't really know what do. All I hope is that with time the right answer will come to me and that I make the best decision possible. Making the decision I think is the easy part, what I think will be harder is to follow through and stick with it. Only time will tell....
Hey guys! Seeing as its the beginning of February, I think it is very fitting to do a Monthly Favorites post. I haven't tried many products this month but what I have to share is absolutely amazing!

If you loved The Notebook and Safe Haven by none other than Nicholas Sparks, then keep reading.
While I do prefer reading actual print, it is usually easier to read on my first generation Kindle. I don't have to lug around books in my purse and it is so slim that it even fits in my back pocket.
This past weekend I have finished reading Nicholas Sparks, "The Guardian". I saw the paperback version while I was at Target and it looked really interesting; as all Nicholas Sparks books do!
The book is about a woman named Julie; she lives in a small town in North Carolina, Swansboro. Her husband, Jim has died of brain cancer and she is just trying to get through life with her dog named Singer that her late husband surprised her with on Christmas Eve after he passed. He wrote her the sweetest letter about why he had given her the dog and that is where the story begins.
After some years she is finally ready to date and after some truly terrible ones, she meets Richard. He is charismatic, good looking, friendly and wealthy. She goes on a couple dates with him but there is no real spark between them.
She then starts taking an interest in her best friend Mike who was also her husbands best friend. Julie then asks him out on a date and they really hit it off. She is so comfortable with him and hes been in love with her for many years.
While she goes out on her first date with Mike, however, she is still seeing Richard. When he comes back from his emergency trip, she tells him it's over and that she is now seeing Mike. Needless to say he flips out on her.
He acts like everything is OK at first, but then he becomes obsessed with her! He starts stalking her and thinks of evil ways to hurt Mike.
I wont say anymore because i don't not want to give the whole book away but its a thriller; you wont be able to set it down.
I definitely recommend this to anyone who wants an easy and good read and whoever wants to be entertained. It's quite sad though, just to warn you.
Let me know what you think of it or if you have read it. I am always interested in what your reading and what you suggest.
I felt like it is time now to share with you all my current skin care routine. I have been using these same products for over two months now and I can confidently say that I love each and every product (except the Clinique Cleansing Balm-- I have only been using it for a week) and that I recommend each product to you.
The most important step in everyone's routine is to CLEANSE THE SKIN!! This is so important guys because if you don't cleanse your skin, you can't remove any oil, makeup, dirt, sweat, you name it. This is the most basic and important step. Find a cleanser that works for you be it drugstore or department store. I have used many many cleansers through out the past what seven, eight years. But the one that I have found to be most effective is the Origins Frothy Face Wash. It doesn't have any harsh chemicals or acne treatments in it. It has a really creamy consistency that when you add water it turns super foamy and once you wash it off, your face feels squeaky clean. It's not a bad price either at about $21 for all the product you get and you only need a pea size amount because it is so foamy.
What I have also found to be helpful has been my Clarisonic Mia. I have the $99 one; it's only one speed but it does the job. I have seen such an improvement in my skin because of this and I will tell you, it was totally worth the money. My husband gave it to me for my birthday and I can not live with out it. The hype is real guys!
The second step that is important is a toner. Whatever the cleanser doesn't remove the toner will and it helps the skin absorb moisturizer better as well. The one I prefer is the Origins United State Balancing Tonic, its perfect because it helps control oily areas on the face but it doesn't dry out dry areas, it balances the skin.
Now, the third step in my routine is a serum. This step is not super necessary, but if your like me and have extra skin concerns like acne scars, then this is step you don't want to miss out on. I had really bad acne up until six months ago; I suffered from Cystic Acne, the worst kind and because of that I had to go on the strongest acne treatment, Accutane. It is a wonderful at getting rid of acne for good, but it does have some not so good side effects. Anyways, the treatment worked at removing my acne, but now I have some pretty bad scarring. So to try to get rid of some of that scarring I use the Dr. Andrew Weil for Origins Mega-Bright Serum and I used this product maybe two years ago when it first launched and it really worked, my scars had faded so I stopped using it but now i have even worse scarring so I'm using it again. It's amazing. It doesn't irritate my skin; it's not harsh. It's pretty pricey but totally worth the money in my opinion
Moisturizer is I think the second essential thing to skincare. With the cleansing you remove everything, so now you have to add moisture to the skin. The moisturizer I am obsessed with is the Origins Gin-Zing moisturizer. It smells amazing, it's not greasy and it does the job. it makes my skin feel really soft.
My night time moisturizer is different because I want something richer and more moisturizing, in the day i need something lightweight because I have oily skin but at night I like a rich moisturizer. the one I prefer is the Origins Night-a-Mins Moisturizer. Again it smells amazing, it's rich and it has a lot great skincare benefits like vitamin c and when you wake up in the morning , your skin is glowing. Who doesn't want that?
The last step worth mentioning for someone my age is eye cream. I just turned twenty so my eye area is still looking good and if your in your teens i don't suggest wasting your money on an eye cream but if your starting to get older and you wear a lot of makeup like me and your eye area is sensitive like mine, then I would suggest wearing an eye cream. I love the Origins Ginzing Eye cream. It has coffee in it so it helps wakes you up and it de-puffs your eye area which I think is great. I really like consistency as well; its not super rich nor watery. It's just right and again, smells amazing like all Origins products.
Sorry that this post was so long but skin care is really important to me and it should be to everyone because if you take care of your skin you wont have to wear as much makeup and if you do wear makeup, your base, which is your face, will look flawless.
I hope you have found this helpful and make sure you watch my video as well!
2013 for me was a year of discovery. I have discovered so many things about myself and it has really been a year for growth. I found a job that I actually love and that I can see myself doing for a long time, I also may have figured out what I want to do with the rest of my life and that is a Radiology Technician.
I also figured out what I didn't want to do with my life and that was be normal college student going to a four year university; it just isn't for me, at least not right now, I know that working in retail totally sucks, especially if you know your better than minimum wage and hate working afternoons and hate spending your weekends in a store with needy, obnoxious customers.
Again, a true year of discoveries. But this post is not only about my crazy life, it's about my beauty favorites and the new discoveries I have made in that department and some true products that have withstood the test of time.
Now I went through a phase where I wanted to try everything every amazing blogger swore by but if I did that I'd be seriously broke and would be on a Hoarders TV special. Needless to say I didn't try EVERYTHING, but I did try some things and only the things that I thought were truly amazing are in this post.
Without further ado, I will list the products I have been loving in 2013 along with some photos. In addition, I have also made a video for you all. Let's do this!
